Experience
The Digital Photography and Imaging module have touched on the subject involving the techniques to enhance photos utilizing the application, Adobe Photoshop as well as create animation utilizing Adobe After Effects. The entire experience was new as I did not had any knowledge in terms of the utilization of the application prior to this module, thereby, it intimidated me at the beginning of the semester. I was slightly struggling with the completion of the assignments as my photoshop techniques were limited. However, the lecture, Mr. Martin have provided the class with guidance in a friendly tone as well as the vast information available in the internet has helped me significantly. improved my application of Photoshop and After Effects.
Observation
Throughout the semester, I have noticed that my interest in photography have significantly increased. I never involved myself in the aspect of photography nor photo manipulation as I used to prefer hand-drawn illustrations more. However, this module has introduced me the magic of photo manipulation in creating beautiful images through a few simple photoshop techniques. I have never felt more amazed at the ability to achieve a realistic artwork from two completely different images that you would never imagine to be at the same place at the same time.
Findings
Towards the end of the semester, I have learnt countless Photoshop techniques not only from lectures provided by Mr. Martin but also self-research through online tutorials. Adobe Photoshop is an optimized photo manipulation application that is user-friendly, hence, it deserves its title as a widely-used app. The one function that I appreciate the most is the select and mask tool in which Photoshop allows the convenient cutting of images. This allowed me to complete the majority of my assignments. Furthermore, Adobe After Effects allow the animation of still images through simple yet effective steps.
In conclusion, I am grateful for this valuable experience through the Digital Photography and Imaging module as I may never obtain these knowledges through my major. I highly appreciate the guidance given by the lecturers and excited to pursue further in the field of design as my own personal passion project.
