✦REFLECTION✦

 Experience 

The Animation Fundamentals module have introduced me the 12 Principles of Animation as well as the utilization of the application, Adobe Animate which is a 2D animation software used in cartoons and animation films. This module was the most useful and interesting module as my hobby is animation and I felt excited to obtain professional advice to improve my animation skills further. The module lecturer, Mr. Kamal, maintained a friendly tone while providing us with detailed guidelines and references to help with the completion of the assignments. Since animation is a time-consuming process, Mr. Kamal has generously extend the deadlines for each assignment as well as giving advices to improve our final product. Thus, I had a pleasant experience in learning the concept of animation and significantly enhance my drawing techniques.

 Observation 

The most significant observation made through the Animation Fundamentals module is the amount time required to create a single second of animation. Animation may seem easy from an outsider's point of view, however, a lot of effort is put into an animation sequence including storyboarding, planning, timing, drawing and post-processing. The final assignment stimulates the real-life in creating an animation sequence in which I have realized the large amount of time required to complete a few seconds animation. 

 Findings 

Through the Animation Fundamentals module, I have learnt to appreciate the amazing works of animators even more than before. Animation is a specialized skill which would take years to even master the basics. Although basic drawing skills could greatly help in animating, animation still requires the understanding of principles to create a fluid and complex sequence. The most important concept is timing in which as animators, we have to be capable of identifying the extremes and breakdown in an action to create a stylized yet realistic animation.

In conclusion, I am grateful for this valuable experience through the Animation Fundamentals module as I may never obtain these knowledges through my major. I highly appreciate the guidance given by the lecturers and excited to pursue further in the field of design as my own personal passion project.
